Dr. Osama Butt is an Assistant Professor of Marketing. He holds a Doctorate in Education Leadership and Policy from the University of Toronto, an MBA in Marketing from West Texas A&M University (USA), and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan.
His teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that effective learning emerges at the intersection of theory and practice. He employs a diverse range of pedagogical approaches, including case-based teaching, experiential learning exercises, and simulations, to create immersive learning environments that connect academic concepts with real-world application. In his classroom practice, he emphasizes experiential learning as a cornerstone of student development, aiming to equip learners with both conceptual depth and practical insight.
Prior to joining Wilfrid Laurier University, he held teaching appointments at McMaster University, Toronto Metropolitan University, the University of Guelph, the University of Texas–Pan American (Rio Grande Valley), and St. Joseph’s College (New York).
He has also served in academic leadership roles, including Chair of the Department of Management Sciences at Bahria University, Lahore Campus (Pakistan), and Area Coordinator for Marketing at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Lahore Campus (Pakistan).
His research focuses on branding, higher education marketing, and consumer psychology. His scholarly work has been published in leading marketing journals, including the Journal of Marketing Education, Social Responsibility Journal, and Journal of Brand Management, as well as in peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
