I received my PhD in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo (UW), where I also did my postdoctoral research for over two years. I hold an MSc and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. Prior to joining the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, I was a full professor of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at Amirkabir University of Technology.
In recent years, I have concentrated more on dynamic pricing and supply chain operations management in retail industry and food supply chains, as well as on integrated planning and scheduling in transportation and energy systems.
Complementing my academic career, I have extensive industry experience as a corporate consultant. I previously served as Director of Information Technology and System Development for a major industrial holding company and successfully managed over 30 large-scale IT projects in business process re-engineering, data warehousing and business intelligence, and enterprise architecture.
