I received my PhD in Sport Management & Leadership from Western University in 2020, my Master's of Human Kinetics in Sport Management from the University of Windsor in 2014, and my BSc in Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2012.
Prior to joining Laurier, I was the director of Sport Development & Tourism in Stratford, Ontario, as well as the previous manager of the Ontario Parasport Collective, under the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
My research examines the intersection of sport, recreation, physical activity, and policy, focusing on how governance structures and organizational systems shape access and participation. My goal is to help build more inclusive and flexible sport systems that improve access and create meaningful community benefits. I also examine event strategy, legacy and leveraging, and alignment with broader sport development goals to inform more sustainable and context-sensitive approaches to event management. My research is informed by a multidisciplinary background in coaching, sport development and sport management, bringing an integrated perspective connecting performance, policy, governance, and education.
