Fourth Year Health Psychology
Kingston, ON

Hi there future Golden Hawks! My name is Nadia and I am in my fourth year Health Science here at Laurier. Going to university is such an important step in a studentís life and Laurier offers a post secondary experience unlike any other! I am so thankful that I chose to go here three years ago and have not looked back since.

Coming from Kingston I was far from home and worried about not fitting in; however my fears soon disappeared after I arrived at Laurier. With such a close knit community and so many clubs and groups available on campus, I never felt alone or excluded. In my second year I was an Icebreaker for Orientation week and joined intramural teams for basketball and volleyball which were both great experiences. In third year I refereed coed volleyball and played as well. This year I will be keeping busy on the Ambassador team and the Residence Life team as a Don in the Clara Conrad Residence.

I am a student in the Faculty of Science in the Health Sciences program which started up just four years ago. Along with my degree I am completing two minors; one in Chemistry and one in Biology. Hopefully some of you are interested in the Faculty of Science and Iíll see you around the Atrium later this year!

If I was to give one piece of advice right off the bat it would be to get involved with something youíre interested in right away. Itís a great way to make friends and lasting memories and hopefully youíll be doing that here at Laurier. Hope you have an amazing first year no matter what university you choose!
