If I play a sport, can I continue it at Laurier?

Yes, we encourage you to get involved in sports at Laurier, whether you are interested in Varsity or Intramurals. You don't have to be a varsity athlete to enjoy a wide variety of sports. Participation is the name of the game. Over 7000 students participated in intramurals at Laurier last year in a variety of sports including:

  • Basketball
  • Indoor Soccer
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Ice Hockey
  • Dodgeball
  • Volleyball
  • Innertube waterpolo

If you are looking for a more personal fitness routine, you will have access to the recreation facilities including a swimming pool, weight room, aerobics studio, climbing wall, as well as tennis, squash and racquetball courts.

How can I get involved in Varsity Athletics?

Laurier has 20 teams competing in Varsity Sports. All full-time students are invited to try out. Some varsity teams hold tryouts before classes begin, so we encourage you to be in touch with the coach individually for more specific details. Tryout schedules and coaches addresses are provided at on our Athletics Website.

What sort of clubs may I join at Laurier?

Laurier has a club for everyone. Campus Clubs range from the Lacrosse Club and Gymnastics Club to Culinary Arts and Accounting Association. In fact, there are over 100 different clubs, surely something to interest all tastes. The Student's Union will also help fund new clubs, if you are looking to start a new organization!
