BA and BSc Program Information



The Kinesiology and Physical Education Department is transitioning to a single Bachelor of Kinesiology degree.

Current Honours BA and BSc students should review the information below specific to their degree program and to ensure that all program requirements including Leadership hours have been met in order to graduate.


The Honours BA and BSc Kinesiology and Physical Education programs are being phased outand have been replaced with the new Honours Bachelorof Kinesiology program.

For more complete information on the rules and regulations relating to these programs, as well as progression requirements, please consult the latest version of the online WLU Undergraduate Academic Calendar. The calendar reflects all of the official rules and regulations of our programs.

Students in the BSc program are required to take MA100 and MA101, or MA110* in their first year. Information about these courses can be found by clickinghere. Students will be required to take the Calculus Placement Exam - Click here for information.

Students entering 4th year in the Fall 2015 term should note that BA and BSc degree requirements are posted in the online WLU Undergraduate Academic Calendar. Students can apply to graduate under the requirements of any calendar requirements listed since their first year.

Progression Requirements Honours BA in Kinesiology and Physical Education

Honours BA Program in Kinesiology and Physical Education

The Honours BA Program in Kinesiology and Physical Education consists of a minimum of 20.0 credits, not more than six of which may be at the 100 level. The program must include at least 10.5 and may include at most 12.0 senior credits in Kinesiology and Physical Education. Progression requirements for the honours BA program are based on grade point averages (GPA) obtained from all courses taken and are calculated on a cumulative basis.

For progression, year to year, the requirement is a minimum GPA of 5.00 (C) in Kinesiology & Physical Education courses and a minimum overall GPA (including Kin courses) of 5.00 (C) is required.


For graduation, with the honours degree, a minimum cumulative GPA of 7.00 (B-) in Kinesiology & Physical Education courses and a minimum overall GPA (including Kin courses) of 5.00 (C) is required.

Progression Requirements Honours BScin Kinesiology and Physical Education

Honours BSc Program in Kinesiology and Physical Education

The Honours B.Sc. Program in Kinesiology and Physical Education consists of a minimum of 20.0 credits. The program must include at least 10.5 credits in Kinesiology and Physical Education. A maximum of 6.5 credits may be taken at the 100 level. Progression requirements for the honours BSc program are based on grade point averages (GPA) obtained from all courses taken and are calculated on a cumulative basis. Students are required to obtain 4.0 division C science credits. Of these 4.0 credits, 1.0 credit must be at 300-or 400-level.

For progression, year to year, the requirement is a minimum GPA of 5.00 (C) in Kinesiology & Physical Education courses and a minimum overall GPA (including Kin courses) of 5.00 (C) is required.

For graduation, with the honours degree, a minimum cumulative GPA of 7.00 (B-) in Kinesiology & Physical Education courses and a minimum overall GPA (including Kin courses) of 5.00 (C) is required.
