Abuja, Nigeria

Hi! My name is Moyosore Arewa and I am from Abuja, Nigeria. Choosing the right university to attend is one of the most important decisions you are going to make, and there is no doubt that getting other studentsí opinions can be really helpful. Being an international student, I was very naÔve about how things worked in Canada, and when the time came to apply to universities, I panicked. Eventually, I applied to Laurier, amongst other schools. By the time I got my offer of admission, I accepted without much hesitation, and two years later, here I am with no regrets whatsoever.

My two years here have been incredible, and Laurier, along with the city of Waterloo, has provided me with the most convenient way to transition from being an uncertain child into an assertive adult. In addition to the wonderful atmosphere and kind-hearted people, the various on-campus clubs and activities have enabled me to further improve on my social, interpersonal and technical skills, which are crucial for a student coming from a relatively different type of society.

I am in the Honors Global Studies program and I am hoping to obtain a law degree following my graduation from Laurier. The Global Studies program allows you a lot of freedom to specialize in your areas of interest and you also get the opportunity to meet with your professor one on one.

Like I mentioned earlier, my time here at Laurier has been nothing short of wonderful, and I am certain that some time in the future, I will be deeply nostalgic for now. I believe your time at Laurier will be just as superb as mine, and I am looking forward to seeing you around.

Feel free to email me at internationalambassador@wlu.ca if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Moyosore.
