Steps to Planning an Event
- Identify the key stakeholders/guest speakers, etc. and ensure dates are confirmed in their calendars.
- Find a venue that will accommodate your event needs. Most spaces on campus can be booked through Banner or by filling out the online booking form.
- Book a photographer who is familiar with the University culture and branding if you require photos to be take of your event.
Guide to On-Campus Venues
Amphitheatre Seating - Laurier has seven large lecture halls on campus, as well as a number of smaller ones. These air-conditioned facilities are excellent for large conference groups. Each amphitheatre is multimedia equipped with VCRs, data projectors, overhead projectors, and a computer console.
- There are over 75 classrooms throughout the campus that can
accommodate groups of all sizes. With capacities ranging from 10 to 452,

Theatre Auditorium - This air-conditioned, all purpose auditorium, with a seating capacity of 849 provides facilities for performances, worship services, concerts, public lectures and social events.
Maureen Forrester Recital Hall
- This venue is the main performance space for Laurier’s Faculty of
Music. The amphitheatre-style facility has an impressive sound system
and can accommodate performances, guest speakers and business meetings.
The Recital Hall holds 323 people and the adjacent Foyer holds up to 350 guests. The Foyer is ideal for receptions
or welcoming ceremonies. The Robert Langen Gallery, which is located
beside the Foyer, promotes an appreciation and enjoyment of Canadian

Paul Martin Centre - This air-conditioned facility is ideal for banquets and meetings. It seats 100 people.
Senate and Board Chamber - This recently renovated formal room provides a setting that can be arranged for banquets, receptions and meetings for up to 150 guests.
Athletic Complex - The air-conditioned auditorium can accommodate 2500 individiuals using bleachers and chairs.
Turret - Laurier’s student pub is over 10,000 square feet in size and can be a dynamic alternative for meetings, social gatherings or banquet dinners and dances.
Wilf’s - This full-service restaurant and bar is equipped to provide a relaxed atmosphere for catered functions for up to 250 people.
University Stadium - This outdoor venue, with artificial turf, has a capacity of up to 6000 people.
