RCW Elevator - Out of Service

Effectively immediately, the elevator for RCW is out of service. Facilities Operations is working closely with the elevator contractor to complete the necessary repairs.

GRH Elevators Update

As a follow-up to initial Grand River Hall elevator notices in January, the project is progressing on schedule. Effective March 18, 2016, the left elevator is now operational and work has started on the right elevator (the elevator that provides access to the basement and underground parking). For the next four to five weeks, this elevator will be out of service.

For individuals that typically park in the underground parking lot and use the basement entrance to access the building, there are two options for building access during the next five weeks:

- -Walk around to the east side of the building and use the stairs that lead up to Colborne Street and gain access through the main entrance
-Cross the street and use the elevator in the parkade to reach the second level of the parkade. Walk through the elevated pedestrian walkway to reach Colborne Street and enter through the main entrance of the building


At any time, Special Constables Services and Foot Patrol are available to accompany students, staff or faculty for the walk to and from the building.

NOTICE: Fire Alarm System Shutdown - Grand River Hall - Tuesday February 16, 2016 - 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm

Please be advised that on Tuesday February 16th, 2016 the fire protection system at Grand River Hall will be shutdown from approximately 9:00 am till 4:30 pm to facilitate the replacement of the fire protection system panel. Signage will be posted at all entrances and the appropriate fire systems shutdown procedures will be in place for the duration of the shutdown including a fire watch.

As there is no means of mass notification to the building occupants, if you smell smoke, see flames or are alerted to a fire please evacuate the building and call contact Special Constable Dispatch to report the event at x5888 or (519) 756-8228.

Grand River Hall - Elevator Modernization Project January 28, 2016

Please note that on Thursday January 28, 2016 both elevators in Grand River Hall will be out of service from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Access to floors is available via the stairs.

Grand River Hall - Elevator Modernization - January 12, 2016

To follow-up with the messaging last week, there is one operational elevator in Grand River Hall. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the left elevator is now out of service for roughly five weeks, while the right elevator (leading down to the basement) is in operation at this time. The overall length of the modernization project is still estimated at 10 weeks.

GRH Elevators - January 5, 2016

The elevators at Grand River Hall will be going through a modernization project that is scheduled to last about ten weeks effective January 5, 2016. During the project there will be one elevator out of service at all times. To begin the project, the elevator on the right (the elevator that provides access to the basement level and underground parking) will be out of service for the next five weeks.

For individuals that typically park in the underground parking lot and use the basement entrance to access the building, there are two options for building access during the next five weeks:
