ICT maintains a University site license for Microsoft Access.

Client Procedures

Microsoft Access is no longer part of the standard Laurier computer image for new computers. If you require Microsoft Access for development of new databases then follow the process below:

To obtain Microsoft Access please fill out a Call Incident Ticket via the ICT Service Desk Customer Portal at the following link . The Manager, Student Information Systems will work with you to determine your requirements and the suitability of Microsoft Access. If it is determined that Microsoft Access is the appropriate tool for your requirements, then the Manager Student Information Systems will forward your project request to the Employee Service Desk who will ensure that ICT installs this application on your computer. It is important to note that Microsoft Access will be installed with the understanding that you are solely responsible for the development and support of any databases you create. ICT will not support home grown Access databases.

Client Expectations

Clients are solely responsible for development and support of Access databases. ICT will not support home grown Access databases.

Employee Computer Evergreen Program
If you are getting a new computer through the Employee Computer Evergreen Program, you will be asked if you have and use Microsoft Access. If so, you will be provided with the appropriate version of Microsoft Access based on the databases you require access to.

Existing Users of Microsoft Access
There are no changes for clients who already use Microsoft Access today.
