Cognos



Cognos is an end user reporting tool. It was purchased in 1998 by the University of Waterloo, Guelf University and Wilfrid Laurier University. Its purpose at Laurier is to provide all faculties and departments a graphical user interface to access institutional data so that high level reporting can be performed by the end user.

Congnos helps provide business intelligence software to the end user. Impromptu and Powerplay are just two of the tools that we are using at Laurier.

Client Procedures

To obtain service, you can log a request on the ITS Service Desk Customer Portal or contact the Employee Service Desk help@wlu.ca  at ext. 4357.


Client Expectations

Users will be responded to by email or telephone once the Service Request has been created, the appropriate resources have been assigned and the Cognos permissions have been set up.
