Am I able to get my degree/diploma before the ceremony?

No, degrees/diplomas will be mailed approximately 2 weeks following Convocation to the address provided on your application


Can I arrange accessible parking and seating for my guests?

Yes, please fill out the online form for Waterloo ceremonies. For further questions, please contact convocation@wlu.ca or call 519-884-0710 ext. 3139.

Do I need tickets for my guests to attend Convocation?

You do not need tickets to attend the Fall ceremonies.

How do I know if I am eligible to graduate?

First, ensure you have met all your course, program and GPA requirements. Consult with your academic advisor as needed. After you apply, continue to check LORIS to find out the status of your application. The status will be updated once your final grades have been received and reviewed

How long is the ceremony?

Each ceremony will vary slightly depending on the number of graduates, but they tend to last for approximately 90-150 minutes.

What should I do if I will not be attending?

You should select not attending when applying to graduate on LORIS. If you have already applied and are wanting to change your selection please contact:

When and where do I rent my Gown/hood for Convocation?

Gowns and hoods will be available to rent Bricker Academic Building in Waterloo and the RAC in Brantford.

Undergraduate and Masters degree candidates do not require to pre-book their graduation gowns and hoods but there will be a $25 rental fee at the time of pickup.

PhD and DMinn candidates will need to order their Academic regalia through the bookstore a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the ceremony. A non-refundable $115 rental fee is required at the time of pickup.

We ask that you arrive an hour prior to ceremony start time to allow time for the gown rental process.

Which Ceremony should I attend?

Confirm on LORIS under "Unofficial Record of Course Work" or "Official Grades".
