Volunteer Visit Program: share your Laurier experience with your former high school!
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
It wasn’t long ago that you were in high school, trying to decide where to attend university, and wondering what university life would be like.
University literature, websites, and magazines can give answers to many questions, but there are still many questions high school students have that can only be answered by a current university student:
How will I meet new people? What’s the best way to study for exams? How about the social life? How will I manage my money? Is Waterloo a good place to live? What’s it like to live in residence?
Who better to tell them what it's all about than a current Laurier student?
This is your opportunity to bring some peace of mind to students at your former high school by sharing your own university experiences. Through the Volunteer Visit Program, you go back to your high school during reading week to give an informal, interactive and informative presentation. The Student Recruitment Office will give you Laurier facts and figures and tips on giving a great presentation – you just need to provide the stories!
How to join the program:
Volunteers must attend a mandatory training session on February 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Please register online.
