Minor fire in Laurier's Grand River Hall: two classes relocated

At shortly after 4 p.m. today, Monday, January 13, a fire alarm was activated in Grand River Hall on Laurier’s Brantford Campus. The Fire Department and University Special Constables responded immediately.
A small cooking fire was extinguished and the building was evacuated. Residents have since returned to the building. No injuries have been reported.
Grand River Hall is a residence/academic building. The residence houses a maximum of 150 students in single and double occupancy rooms. A single suite has been affected and those students have been provided alternate accommodations.
Two classes scheduled to take place in Grand River Hall are being relocated for this evening.
PS296 1B – 5:30 – 6:50 p.m. will be moved to OD210
CT410c BR – 7:00 – 9:50 p.m. will be moved to RCW 324
