University and CUPE commence bargaining
Collective bargaining for a new contract has commenced between Wilfrid Laurier University and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 926 (CUPE), which represents all regular custodial, grounds and trades employees in Laurierís Physical Resources Department, Waterloo and Kitchener locations.
To date, the two parties have met twice and progress is being made. There are seven more bargaining sessions booked between now and June 28th.
The university is committed to reaching an agreement that is fair and equitable and in the best interests of the institution and its students.
CUPE Local 926 represents 113 staff members at the university. CUPEís bargaining team includes: Dan Graham, Gary Bott, Allan Savard, Mary Ellen Sherrer, Doug Koebel and David Lavigne (Alternate).
The University's bargaining team includes: Allison Roberts, Mary Orton, Gary Nower, Ray Robichaud, Heather Matlashewski and Stacey Hawkins.
