Broader Public Sector Procurement and Expense Training - Update
In follow up to notifications sent May 1, 2012 and June 7, 2012, Wilfrid Laurier University is subject to new legislation as part of the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010. The Government of Ontario has passed into the law the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive and the Broader Public Sector Expense Directive effective April 1st, 2011.
These two directives have required significant changes to Laurier policy section 5.11 Procurement and Tendering and to the Expense Reimburse Handbook. As such, the Presidentís Group has endorsed mandatory training for all staff and faculty that partake in procurement or submit expense claims. If you are involved in the purchasing of supplies, equipment, or services, the hiring of contractors or consultants, or the preparation, submission, or approval of expense reimbursement claims then you are required to take this training.
Procurement Services and Financial Resources are hosting training sessions over the next several months. It is mandatory that all affected staff and faculty attend one of these sessions if they have not already done so.
