Abstract submission is now open for the special symposium at the 2011 CSC in Montreal

Dec 9/10

Symposium Title:

Experiments and Models for Heterogeneous Chemistry in the Environment

Environment/2011 Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition

Dr. Hind Al-Abadleh, Chemistry Department, Wilfrid Laurier University

Dr. Donald Gamble, Chemistry Department, St. Mary’s University

The purpose of the symposium is to assemble a critical mass of scientists who are investigating the reaction mechanisms and related physical chemical phenomena that can support the development of models for quantitative predictions. Theory and experiment need to be brought together. Relevant topics include the physical and chemical properties of soils, sediments, and natural waters that are contaminated, surface chemistry of aerosols, chemical speciation, reaction pathways, molecular modelling, thermodynamics, equilibria if the exist, chemical kinetics, and the experimental tests of predictive models.
