Laurier’s Human Resources Department and Student Affairs are presenting a free event on digestive health for students, staff and faculty.
“What Your Body is Telling You: Digestive Health & The Mind-Body Relationship” takes place September 18 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in N1044 in the Science Building on Laurier’s Waterloo campus.
Stephanie Clairmont, RD and Bina Moore, RSW from the Clairmont Digestive Clinic will explore a holistic approach to digestive health. As digestive health coaches they examine the influence of nutrition and life stressors on the gut and provide a new understanding of how our bodies truly work. Participants will take away strategies to help improve digestion.
Through their clinic, the speakers work with gastrointestinal conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), food allergies & intolerances, non-celiac gluten intolerance, Celiac Disease, lactose intolerance, fructose malabsorption and low FODMAP diets.
