It is with profound sorrow that Wilfrid Laurier University mourns the loss of Jenna Lorente, a second-year Kinesiology student who died earlier this week while at home for the exam study days.
The Dean of Students has connected with Jenna’s family to offer support and to extend heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the Laurier community. Flags have been lowered to half-mast across the university in recognition of this loss.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a eulogy at 4 p.m., at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, Jenna’s family is requesting donations for the Canadian Mental Health Association of Midland for suicide prevention.
