Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

It is with profound sadness that Wilfrid Laurier University mourns the loss of Harrison Reimer, who died on Oct. 21. Harrison was a second-year student studying Financial Math.

The Dean of Students is connected with the Reimer family to offer support and to extend heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the Laurier community. Flags will be lowered to half-mast across the university in recognition of this loss to the Laurier community.

Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line in Oakville, on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at Glen Abbey United Church, 1469 Nottinghill Gate in Oakville, with reception to follow. Donations in memory of Harrison can be made to the GoFundMe campaign set up to assist the family with funeral expenses.
