Wilfrid Laurier University mourns the loss of Reginald Haney, a Laurier alumni and former MBA program director, who died on Nov. 6, 2018.

Haney graduated from Laurier (Waterloo College at the time) with a BA in History in 1951 and went on to graduate from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1955.

As a full-time practicing lawyer with expertise in administrative law and education law, Haney offered general counsel services to Laurier.

Haney later completed an MA at Laurier in 1971. He taught business at Laurier for 35 years, both part-time and full-time, while continuing his legal practice. Haney served as director of the MBA program during his time at Laurier and was granted professor emeritus status in 1995. He was named one of the university’s 100 alumni of achievement as part of the university’s centenary in 2011.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Parkminster United Church in Waterloo on Nov. 13, 2018 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. Donations in memory of Reginald may be made to KidsAbility or YMCAs of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo by contacting the funeral home at or 519-745-8445.
