Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

It is with profound sadness that Wilfrid Laurier University mourns the death of student Gagandeep Sangwan, who drowned July 16 while hiking at Gold Creek in Golden Ears Provincial Park in Maple Ridge, B.C.

Gagandeep was a student in the Honours Bachelor of Science program at Laurier’s Waterloo campus.
