Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Wilfrid Laurier University mourns the loss of student Siqi Wang, 20, who passed away this week after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Waterloo Monday evening.   Siqi was a student in the Bachelor of Business Administration program who had previously completed the Laurier English and Academic Foundations (LEAF) program in Brantford.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Siqi with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, Nov. 30, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., with tributes and remembrances at 11:30 a.m.

The Laurier community extends its heartfelt sympathies to the Wang family. Flags will be lowered to half-mast across the university in recognition of this loss to the Laurier community.
