Academic Background
Ron Petker is a former WLU grad who did undergraduate and graduate studies in Community Psychology. Prof. Petker then went on to do a B.Ed. at O.T.E.C. (at McMaster University). A M.Ed. Program in Applied Psychology and Counselling was completed at University of Toronto (O.I.S.E.).

Prof. Petkerís career with the Waterloo Region District School Board included various teaching and counselling assignments at the primary, junior, intermediate and senior levels. He has worked as a Guidance Department Head, counsellor and special education teacher; coordinated and taught A.Q. courses in Guidance for the University of Western Ontario; and, participated on a Ministry of Education writing team. The experiences that Prof. Petker values most include working closely with students of all ages and their families.

Additional Information

Prof. Petkerís other activities of interest include travel, reading, golf, walking and cooking.
