Languages and Literatures
On February 22, 2008 the French program of the Department of Languages and Literatures hosted 36 high school French teachers for a double workshop seminar. The campus visit, organized by Anaheeta Bharucha of Waterloo Collegiate Institute in conjunction with Catherine Black and Milo Sweedler, took place in the Laurier Language Center from 8:30 to 11:30am. Dr. Ira Ashcroft made a presentation on teaching culture through the polar (French mystery novel). Milo Sweedler presented on early French cinema, and Krzysztof Pietroszek offered vital technical support. Warm thanks are extended to all who participated. The French faculty looks forward to future collaboration with teachers in the community.
