Look into Laurier

Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Third-Year Philosophy

Hello future Golden Hawks!

My name is Tyler Alviano, and I am currently in my third year of the Philosophy program with an option in Legal Studies. Not too long ago I was in the shoes that many of you are in now. I was not sure which school was the best fit for me. I actually chose Laurier on a bit of a whim, but as soon as I stepped on campus I knew that it was the place for me, and knew that there was something very special about it here.

Throughout my time here I have been lucky enough to get involved in numerous areas of the school. I have been able to play on various intramural teams, become an executive on the Student Alumni Association and be an Orientation Week leader. Getting involved has been a great way to meet amazing people, but is also a great way to make my four years here even more amazing. There are opportunities for everyone to get involved and find what you are passionate about. And if you don't see something you like, there is also the opportunity for you to start a new club!

The small community feel here at Laurier, and the amazing school spirit, are some of the main reasons I picked this school. I cannot even imagine myself at any other school. Laurier has become so much more than just a place to study; it has become another home too!

I would absolutely love the opportunity to take you on a tour around campus and share my experiences with you, and to show you why Laurier is the place for you too!
