Third-Year Business Administration
Hey future Golden Hawks!
My name is Sanya Gandhi and I am in my third year of the Business Administrations program here at Laurier. Although I decided to tour Laurier for the first time for its program, I decided to stay for its people, atmosphere and of course, for the Golden Hawk.
Going into grade 12, I knew I had to start making some important life decisions and that I had to make them fast. I did what every grade 12 student did when they couldn’t decide on a school – took all the campus tours, went to all the post-secondary school fairs and listened to every presentation. However, when I started touring Laurier, I knew I was in love. I quickly decided that I wanted to be a part of this amazing community. At Laurier I immediately felt a part of a small, accepting, perpetually smiling family who had all the pride and spirit in the world. Taking that tour made me realize that I didn’t just want a degree, I wanted the Laurier experience.
To get that complete Laurier experience, I decided to get involved with things that would not only allow me to grow, but also help me make a difference. In my first year, I joined AIESEC Laurier and have been able to work with a great team for the last two years to help promote and facilitate international student exchanges. I also became involved with Orientation Week as a Go-Team member and was able to re-live that amazing O-Week experience I had in first year. These positions, along with being a Campus Ambassador have allowed me to not only learn a lot about myself, but also to learn more about this incredible school I call home. Though I’ve grown a lot, I know Laurier isn’t done with me yet and that I still have a lot to learn and to experience!
There are so many opportunities for every student to learn and grow through getting involved; there is truly something for everyone. So, come check out Laurier and experience that tight-knit and spirited community we have to offer. Everyone will come to Laurier for that one thing, but they always stay for the people, atmosphere and of course, for the Golden Hawk. Good luck and I hope to see all of you soon!
