Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Hi Future Hawks!

My name is Cassy Lim and I’m so excited to share my university experience with you!

I am a fourth year student in the Bachelor of Business Administration program, as well as an active member in the community. Laurier offers a small campus, high student satisfaction, and amazing programs, which made it a very appealing option for me as a grade 12 student. Becoming a Golden Hawk is one of the best decisions I ever made as I am confident the opportunities and relationships I made here will help me excel in my future endeavors.

Since stepping foot on campus, I became involved in a diverse set of volunteer and athletic opportunities. Laurier has hundreds of clubs and teams to choose from which made it easy for me to continue pursuing passions while studying business. Throughout high school I competed on multiple sports team and I wanted to continue this in my university career. I joined the competitive Field Hockey Club where I played against other universities. In my second year, I knew I wanted to get more involved and share my passion for Laurier. As a result, I volunteered with the Students Union as an orientation leader and enhanced my first aid skills on the Emergency Response Team (ERT). Being an orientation leader provided me with my first opportunity to interact with incoming first year students mentoring them throughout their university transition. During my third year, I was an intramural champion playing the unique game of Inner Tube Water Polo! As well, as a general volunteer on the ERT, it inspired me to take on a leadership role. I have been lucky enough to hold the Logistic Executive position on ERT for the past two years allowing me to grow with and in the team.

Laurier has provided me with lifelong memories, an amazing education, a second home, and a second family. No matter how long your visit here is, I hope you have a magical time here at Wilfrid Laurier University!

Class of 2022, Welcome to Laurier!
