Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

It’s hard to explain what it means to be a Golden Hawk without meeting us in person. No matter which campus you tour, once you come, you’ll immediately feel the community spirit that makes Laurier special. Join us Saturday, November 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for our Fall Open House on the Waterloo Campus.

What You Can Do at Open House?

Open House is one of the best times to visit campus! Our students, staff and faculty are all looking forward to meeting you and answering any questions you have about university and what our Waterloo campus has to offer you.

  • Take a campus tour: A student volunteer will be happy to show you all the sights and sounds of campus. This will be a generic campus tour. For program-specific information, you can learn more at the information sessions and fairs.
  • Take advantage of our residence open house: Our current residents will open their doors to show our dormitory- and apartment-style residence options.
  • Attend a specific information session: Speak with representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence, Athletics, Co-op and faculty members who are here to help you make your decision easier.
  • Get involved in open house sessions: Faculty and students will help to explain our programs and answer all of your important questions.

Get the Most Out of Your Day

  • Register in advance to get email reminders and updates before the event.
  • Review the schedule below and plan your day before you get to campus. Staff and volunteers will also be handing out paper copies of the event schedule throughout campus during Open House.
  • Find out how to get here and where to park. Parking is free for our campus visitors during Open House!
  • Wear comfortable shoes and check the weather before you leave – you'll have the chance to explore the entire campus, so be ready to do some walking.

Football Ticket Giveaway

We're giving away free tickets to the OUA semifinal game between the Laurier Golden Hawks and the McMaster Mauraders. The game will be held at University Stadium at 1:00 p.m. You can reserve up to 6 tickets using our online form (tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis). Your tickets will be available for pick up between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. from will call at the University Stadium.

Waterloo Campus Parking

We are pleased to provide free parking to our Fall Open House guests. Please be aware that central campus parking is limited and is usually full by 9 a.m. We encourage you to set your GPS to one of the off-campus event parking lots indicated on the Event Parking mapNote: Our event parking map works best in the Google Maps mobile app. If on a web browser, Google Maps asks you to log in to view the map, try opening the link in a new browser to access the map.

We strongly advise you to drive directly to an event parking lot, not to 75 University Avenue West. If our central campus lot is full, you will need to complete a loop of campus before exiting to one of our designated parking lots. To avoid this, proceed directly to one of our event parking lots when you arrive. There will be volunteers at each parking lot to direct you when walking to the campus.

If you require accessible parking, please come to Mid Campus Drive at 75 University Avenue West where parking staff will direct you to accessible parking on main campus.

Please use our online maps to help you find parking:

Academic Information Sessions

Our academic information sessions, hosted by faculty members and academic advisors, will allow you to get your questions answered, see what your university classes will be like, and find out more about the program to which you’ve applied.
