For those of you who have requested airport pick up, please email us with your flight number and arrival as soon as possible. Once we have all the information, we will send you a confirmation with detailed instructions and information as to where you will be picked up. We will also send the name and a photo of the person who will meet you at the airport.
Once you land at the airport, please scan the welcome area for our staff member there to welcome you. Should you for some reason not see anyone, please follow these instructions to find your shuttle service.
For those who have chosen to arrive to our Brantford campus on your own, the address of your residence is 53 Dalhousie Street, Brantford. The name of the building is Expositor Place.
Once you have finalized your arrival plans please let us know of your estimated arrival time, so we can meet you at residence with your keys.
You can hire a taxi or limo car once you have arrived at Toronto airport. The cost is approximately $160 one way, door to door service for a taxi, and approximately $150 for a limo car. Make sure the taxi or limo is marked and displays their license and that the fee is a flat fee and predetermined, with the meter turned off. Payment can be made by cash in Canadian funds, or by credit card. Please make sure to have a credit card that will work in Canada.
You can purchase a one way ticket from Toronto Pearson Airport to Brantford’s train station. It will cost about $45 for the trip. Visit the VIA Rail website for complete schedule details. It is a longer walk from the train station to the residence building. We highly recommend calling a taxi to bring you to your residence. You can call Brant Taxi at 519.752.1010. When you call they will ask where you are (Via Rail train station) and ask where you are going (53 Dalhousie Street).
During your stay, Laurier will provide you with furnishing and amenities for your apartments. Each student will have one of each of the following: one pillow, a pillow case, sheets, blankets and towels. The kitchen will also come with supplies for your shared apartments such as pots, plates, knives, etc. Students are responsible for the majority of meals while participating in the program. We will provide you with dinner on your first night as well as breakfast and lunch on the first day of the program. During your orientation, you will be shown where the supermarket is, and our student staff will escort you there on your first trip. Please note that our campus does not have a student dining hall.
You will receive your schedule for the program when we meet you at your residence. We will also show you amenities in your residence building (laundry and garbage). Our staff and volunteers will be around to answer any and all questions you have. Please email us with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
