Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

It’s no secret that Canada is the second largest country in the world totalling 9,984,670 square kilometres. The United Kingdom fits into Canada approximately 40 times!

Canada is a diverse nation of people from around the world and many cultural backgrounds. As one of the top countries to live, work and study, Canada offers a safe and welcoming community to call home. Residents enjoy a high quality of life and access to dynamic and growing urban centres, scenic landscapes, and diverse entertainment and culture.

Feel at Home

Over the past 100 years, more than 13 million immigrants have come to Canada to start a new life. This makes Canada one of the world's most ethnically diverse countries. Canada's cultural mosaic is evident in the variety of restaurants and grocery stores, religious places of worship, and festivals throughout the year.

The Canadian Experience Class makes it easier for international students to apply for permanent resident status once they have graduated from a university and have one year of work experience.

Pay Less

Canada is known for high quality, low-cost education. Our tuition rates for international students are lower than many other countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

Cost of living is considerably less in Canada than the UK and Europe.

The Province of Ontario

Laurier’s campuses are located in Ontario, Canada’s most populous province and home to Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, and Toronto, the largest city in Canada. We have campuses in Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford and Milton, and an office in Toronto.

Laurier’s campuses are only 50 minutes away from each other by car. Located at the heart of southwestern Ontario, our campuses are close to many of Canada’s largest cities, the United States’ border, and international airports, including Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Hamilton International Airport and Waterloo Region International Airport.

Cities less than 200 km away from our campuses:

  • Toronto
  • London
  • Niagara Falls
  • Buffalo, New York (United States)

Waterloo

Our Waterloo campus is located in Waterloo Region, a thriving, culturally diverse community of 575,000 people. This city offers plenty of hiking trails, golf courses, skating rinks and soccer fields, and it even has a ski hill. Home to many leaders in technology including Desire2Learn and Google’s Canadian headquarters, Waterloo caters to a student population. Waterloo is small enough to be safe and easy to get around, yet big enough to provide great restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

Brantford

Our Brantford campus is rooted in the downtown core, offering you a unique campus life experience. It’s close to shops, cafés, great walking and biking trails, and a diverse arts and entertainment scene. With a population of just over 97,000, Brantford is a city where sporting events and recreational activities are an integral part of community life. One of the most popular spots in the city is Harmony Square, which has a number of patios where you can spend warm fall evenings, and the summer splash pad converts to a skating rink in the winter!

Milton

Our Milton campus is located alongside the beautiful natural environment of the Niagara Escarpment. Milton is a rapidly growing, vibrant community. The mid-sized town is home to the youngest population in Ontario and is in close proximity to Ontario’s 401 highway and GO Transit. With quaint restaurants, arts and athletics facilities, 64 parks and an innovation centre, Milton offers a balanced student lifestyle in a diverse community.
