Teaching first year courses in Religion and Culture: A Workshop
Facilitated by Alex Damm
Friday, October 16, 12:30 - 3:30 pm, Room 2-108
At some point in our careers, each of us has instructed, or will instruct, a first year course in religious studies. To instruct such a course is exciting; the course has great potential for our studentsí development, and for our own.
In our afternoon workshop, our goal is to reflect on how to draw out this potential; how to approach teaching a first year course so that it is meaningful, manageable and affords students a mentorship in the study of religion. Through exchange of ideas and experience, we can become more effective, so please come to enjoy and to learn together.
