Young Worker Orientation Training - Brantford


Young workers are 24% more likely to be injured on the job than other groups, particularly during the first few days of employment. This course is designed to ensure young workers understand their rights and responsibilities and providethem with theinformationthey need to work safely. The training provides a general overview of health and safety policies, procedures, rights and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act along with WHMIS training. Additional training modules for Laboratory Safety, Biosafety, Laser Safety are provided as required. This in-class session must be in conjunction with job specific training given by the supervisor and close supervision on the job.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Course cancellations must be made via email to chaywood@wlu.ca TWO WORKING DAYS prior to the course date. Departments will be invoiced $50 per registrantfor failing to attend withoutthespecifiednotice. For courses canceled at the discretion of SHERM, a two working day noticewill be provided to participants,with the exception ofsituations involving circumstancesbeyond SHERM's control.
