Wilfrid Laurier University’s priority during the outbreak of COVID-19 is the safety of students, staff and faculty while remaining committed to academic excellence and to student satisfaction. The university has taken significant steps to do our part in the national and global effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus, and has been working to develop a detailed and integrated recovery framework.

Communication on Provincial State of Emergency

On Jan. 12, Premier Doug Ford declared a second state of emergency effective immediately in response to the worsening COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario. Laurier is focused on protecting the health and safety of our university community and we have already put in place measures that align with provincial and public health directives. Creating as much stability as possible for students, faculty and staff is of utmost importance and has been the foundation of our decision-making since the pandemic began.
