Research Facilities

  • Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain quality research space for faculty and student research.
  • Indicator: Faculty and student research spaces are operational throughout the year.
  • Output: A portion of the RSF is used to maintain research space across Laurier’s campuses.
  • Outcomes Reported at Year End: 66,367 square feet of research space maintained and operational across all Laurier.

Research Resources

  • Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain the level of institutional support related to dissemination of faculty research through our institutional repository.
  • Indicator: The number of downloads of faculty research from the institutional repository.
  • Output: A portion of the RSF will be used to support the continued development of Laurier’s institutional repository.
  • Outcomes Reported at Year End: Number of faculty research publications downloaded from Laurier’s Institutional Repository in 2017/18. We will use 2016/17 as a performance baseline.

Regulatory Requirements and Accreditation

  • Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain annual reporting compliance as mandated by the Tri-Council policy statement.
  • Indicator: All active protocols submit the required annual report.
  • Output: A portion of the RSF used to support online application and tracking system.
  • Outcomes Reported at Year End: Remain compliant with Tri-Council policies for Research Ethics Board reporting in 2017/18.

Management and Administration of an Institution’s Research Enterprise

  • Institutional Performance Objective: Continue to support Tri-Council grant applications and process Tri-Council awards.
  • Indicator: The number and quality of Tri-Council grant applications being submitted by Laurier faculty and the number of successful awards.
  • Output: A portion of the RSF invested in the salaries of Laurier’s research facilitators, research finance team, and knowledge mobilization officer.
  • Outcomes Reported at Year End: The number of Tri-Council grants processed and awarded in 2017/18. We will use 2016/17 as a performance baseline.

Intellectual Property and Knowledge Mobilization

  • Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain the level of institutional support for industry-led projects.
  • Indicator: The number of new industry-led projects initiated.
  • Output: A portion of the RSF invested in university-industry liaison officer’s salary and activities.
  • Outcomes Reported at Year End: The number of industry-led projects initiated in 2017/18. We will use 2016/17 as a performance baseline.
