I received my PhD in history at the University of Toronto in 1999 and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Western Ontario in 2001/02. I've taught in the Department of History at Laurier since 2002.
I am a historian of modern Canada with special interests in social and cultural history, rural life and the province of Ontario. I am currently working on a booklength study of the relationship between rural and urban Ontario, and ideas about those places, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
I am pleased to supervise MA projects on aspects of the social, cultural and political history of 19th and 20th-century Canada, with a particular emphasis on the province of Ontario and doctoral projects on the history of rural Ontario in the same period.
