Welcome to the Writing Centre.The goal of the writing centre program is to offer individual and in-class writing support for all students and faculty at Laurier. We work with all students, undergraduate and graduate, to help them enhance their academic writing. The key principle of the program is to support the writing that goes on in the classroom in a way that helps students and faculty achieve their academic goals.We offer the following services:
Individual 50-minute consultations for both undergraduate and graduate studentsDrop-in hours (resuming in October) for short sessions where you can get immediate help with specific questions about academic writingUniversity-wide writing workshops for all students on the core elements of academic writingIn-class writing workshops specifically designed for the course and the discipline, offered at both the undergraduate and the graduate level. The workshops are part of our writing support for faculty.Web and print resources on writing: see our handouts and online writing resourcesBook recommendations for faculty, graduate and undergraduate studentsCheck out our frequently asked questions to learn more about the Writing Centre.To request an appointment, call 519-884-0710 ext. 2220, use our online form, or come and see us in the Library on the main floor, Room 2-213.Drop-in hours will run from Monday October 5th to Monday December 7th.
