Why Choose WLS
At Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, our students discover the best of all worlds -- the close-knit social community of a small college, the rich diversity of a dynamic city, and all the amenities of a world-class university. Our ecumenical, multifaith and inclusive practice creates a diverse and vibrant community.
Most importantly, WLS is a community. Our faculty and staff are committed to helping you become all that God has called you to be. We hope you can join us in this great adventure.

People at Laurier
As dean of chapel since the Fall of 2009, Debbie Lou coordinates daily worship at Keffer Chapel and designs special worship services throughout the academic term. With a specific interest in the opportunity for Canadians to grow in our connectedness to the rest of the world by building bridges to other cultures and in church renewal, Debbie Lou teaches a course in worship and global song and directs the WLS global community singers Inshallah. She has led worship and music on two trips to the Holy Land with WLS, and also creates opportunities for public conversations about worship practice and ecumenical worship opportunities partnering with musicians and artists in the community. Debbie Lou teaches voice at the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University and is Director of Worship Ministries for the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada.
