Christine Neill graduated from the University of Queensland (Australia) with a B. Economics (Hons) in 1992, and went to work as an economist in the Australian Treasury and later the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She returned to her studies in 1998, completing her PhD at the University of Toronto in 2006, specialising in labour and public economics. Her research to date has focused on university financing, student loan policies, and individuals' education decisions, with some analysis of Australian policy thrown in for good measure.
