Aside from becoming better musicians through diligent and intelligent practicing, you can become adept at teaching and adjudicating as a result of the participatory nature and cooperative approach in the studio class.
Admission to the Bachelor of Music is based on the collective results of your audition, academics, reference and optional portfolio.
Audition repertoire should be performed at a Grade 8 RCM level or higher. RCM formal training and exams are not required.
Choose a fast and contrasting slow movement. You may audition on other saxophones, but you must have an alto saxophone if you are admitted to Laurier.

Successful applicants are very well prepared, well in advance of their auditions. Along with private instruction, having a good practice method and ethic are the keys to being well prepared.
Choose repertoire that allows you to demonstrate your musical strengths. The opportunity to practice with an accompanist/coach prior to auditioning is an excellent way to improve performances.
