Ancient Mediterranean Studies (BA)

If you’re interested in the ancient world, this program is for you! Ancient Mediterranean Studies explores the language, literature, history, politics, philosophy and culture of the first civilizations, including Egypt, Greece, Rome and Mesopotamia – from the dawn of European civilization to the fall of the Roman Empire.

In our program, you have the option of concentrating in 1 of 2 traditional disciplines: Classical or Near Eastern Studies. The flexibility of our program allows you to focus on the aspects of ancient cultures that interest you most, including the foundations of civilization, mythology, social history (for example, the study of women in the ancient world), the political developments of ancient states, and ancient languages.
