Privacy and Access at Laurier

Welcome to Wilfrid Laurier University's Privacy Office. Our office supports the Laurier community in its compliance with Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). This includes:

• Giving advice and help to the Laurier community about privacy legislation and university policies relevant to access and privacy.
• Ensuring the personal information and personal health information Laurier has in its possession is secure, used appropriately and shared only when permitted.
• Processing access to information requests made under FIPPA for both requests relating to personal and general records.
• Providing support and advice to Laurier staff and faculty with regards to recordkeeping and information governance.

Note: Students, applicants and other members of the Laurier community who provide personal information to Laurier should read our Notice of Collection, Use or Disclosure of Personal Information.
