Why is parking such a problem at Laurier and why isn’t anything being done about it?
A number of initiatives have been implemented through various lease agreements with community members in order to increase the parking available at Laurier. The Parking & Information Kiosk was established in September of 2001 and continues to provide the Laurier community and visitors with maps, directions, and general information. Parking patrollers are prominent figures on campus. They circulate throughout campus issuing tickets to those in violation of the parking regulations, ensuring that parking equipment is fully operational, and providing directions to available parking lots. Their diligence helps to cut down on the number of offending vehicles. We also have both a Parking Advisory Committee and a Parking Appeals Committee that continue to work towards improving Parking & Transportation Resources. The Parking Advisory Committee examines the current parking operations and considers new initiatives to improve them. The Parking Appeals Committee meets regularly to aid in making decisions regarding the appeals that have been filed.
