TEMPORARY ACCESSIBLE PERMITS FOR FACULTY/STAFF
parking permits may be issued by Parking & Transportation Resources when there is a need for short term accessible parking. Permits will
be issued on the basis of one (1) day to a maximum of three (3) months and are valid for use in any accessible spot on campus. Please
complete the Faculty & Staff Temporary Accessible parking permit request form (below) and contact the AODA & Employment Equity Advisor in the Diversity & Equity Office at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your need for temporary accessible parking.
Faculty/Staff must still hold a valid Gold permit, in addition to an MTO pass or temporary accessible permit. BOTH permits MUST be visibly displayed in order to be valid. There is a fee for the temporary accessible pass (payable by cash, cheque, debit or credit at the Parking office only) if you do not hold a valid Gold parking permit. Contact the Parking office for current fee's.
The Ministry of Transportation also provides temporary accessible parking permits (from 2 months to 1 year) that can be used anywhere in the province, including Laurier. If you would prefer to obtain a temporary MTO accessible parking permit, please visit the MTO website at; Service Ontario Accessible Parking. By displaying a valid Gold permit along with the MTO issued Accessible Parking Permit, you are also able to park in any accessible spot on campus.
TEMPORARY ACCESSIBLE PERMITS FOR STUDENTS
Temporary parking permits may be issued by Parking & Transportation Resources when supporting medical documentation is provided to the Accessible Learning Centre. Permits will be issued on the basis of a minimum of one (1) day to a maximum of four (4) months. These permits are valid in any accessible space on campus, including non-white permit lots. There is a fee for these permits, payable by cash, cheque, debit or credit at the Parking office only. Please contact our office for current rates.
For periods longer than four (4) months, we require a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) permit. Special circumstances around an extended period requiring an accessible permit will be determined by the Accessible Learning Centre, again with supporting medical documentation.
The Accessible Learning Centre is located in the Arts Building, Room 1C11, and can be reached at (519) 884-0710, ext. 3086.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING FOR VISITORS
Visitors to campus will need to stop at the Information Kiosk and purchase a temporary Pay & Display permit at a rate of $3.00/hour or $9.00/day (OR if you choose to park at a meter or in a Pay & Display lot, payment must be made.) This will allow you to park in any accessible space on campus as long as you hold and are displaying a valid Ministry of Transportation (MTO) accessible permit.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACES ON CAMPUS
Accessible Parking spaces are available in numerous locations throughout campus [Lots 1, 2, 3A, 7, 9 (west), 10, 11, 12, 21, 22, 24, 27, 30, 34, 37 and 42).
