Hi there! My name is Laura Viselli and Iím going into my fourth year in Global Studies with a minor in Spanish and the Research Specialization Option.

First of all, WOW! By taking the time to visit the Laurier website and possibly (and hopefully) signing up for a tour you are demonstrating an active role in your education. As young students filled with so many different and exciting choices, we often forget how precious of a gift having the ability to go to university is. So do your research! Talk to your friends! Make an informed decision. This is an extremely exciting time.

That being said, I cannot express how glad I am that I did my research and chose Laurier. At first I had toured other schools, talked to other students, and had my sights set somewhere else. But after one tour at Laurier I just knew this was the place for me. Laurier embodies an inexplicable quality that only students and faculty can attempt to convey to others. When you step onto campus you are immediately overwhelmed by a welcoming and friendly environment. You must see it to believe it.

Laurier has given me so many opportunities and I will be forever grateful. In just three years I have travelled to Spain and Indonesia, learned a second language and taken a leading role for Laurierís biggest club on campus. These opportunities have enriched my university experience (and life) by teaching me things about myself, my work ethic, and where I want to take my education and also by connecting me with some of the most amazing people I have ever met.

If you are to take anything away from this, remember that having the chance to go to university is a gift! Do your research. Make an informed decision. And of course consider Laurier. You will NOT regret it!
