Paige Goodman
Paige Goodman Fourth Year English and Women & Gender Studies Bolton, ON pgoodman@wlu.ca
Whether you are a prospective student or have accepted your offer, welcome to Laurier!! O cannot begin to describe how much Laurier has shaped me into who I am today. I am in my fourth year pursuing a double major in English and Women and Gender Studies, but my Laurier experience does not stop there.
Outside the classroom, I am involved with Peer Help Line, which is a confidential phone line for all WLU students to call for information, referrals or a listening ear. As a part of the external team, it is my job to promote Peer Help Line and that is exactly what I have been doing since my first year! I am very passionate about helping others and enjoy meeting new people. I really cannot wait to meet incoming first years so it is no wonder that I am a student Ambassador!
When I was choosing which University to go to, I was lucky enough to have my older sister already at Laurier. So even before I was a Golden Hawk I had the opportunity to visit and was exposed to the strong sense of community. Now, with 3 years of experience behind me, I am proud to call myself a Golden Hawk and will gladly wear purple and gold!
If I can leave you with any advice when deciding where to spend the next 4 years….it is to be somewhere that you can call home, where you feel a strong sense of community and a good fit for your career path, You will be spending the majority of the next few years wherever you decide to go, so make sure to get the most out of it. Definitely get involved on campus because it will be so rewarding and a great way to meet your peers.
I hope to see you around the campus soon, whether it is for a tour or as a student!
