Let me start by giving you a big golden hawk welcome to Wilfrid Laurier University. I am so excited to be showing you around campus and to answer any questions you may have.

My name is Emma Pollard and I am a third year health science student here at Wilfrid Laurier University. I am originally from Brampton, Ontario which is about an hour away from Waterloo.

I have absolutely loved my experience here so far and am looking forward to all of the wonderful memories to come. A big part of what has made my years at Laurier so worthwhile is being involved around campus. In first year, I was on the education committee of the EcoHawks, which is our on-campus environmental club. I was also a member of Shinerama and the first year representative for the Culinary Arts Club.

In my second year, I took on my current role as a Student Ambassador and become a member of the Emergency Response Team which serves as an on-campus first response team in case of injuries or accidents. I also performed in the year’s Fashion’n’Motion production which is a charity dance and fashion show. I plan on continuing my involvement in all of these groups in the coming years and am looking forward to my new role as Senior Ambassador of Logistics for the Student Ambassador team.

Choosing a university is definitely a difficult decision and it feels like just yesterday that I was in the same position as you. I chose Laurier because I loved the small community feeling and the school spirit. I was excited about my program and the course offerings and I felt at home the moment I first stepped on campus. Best of luck with your decision and I hope to see you next year!
