3rd Year Business Administration
Hey! My name is Catherine, and Iím in my third year of Business with the co-op option. For me, coming from Toronto, I was drawn to Laurier because of the close-knit community. We foster a genuinely friendly and supportive atmosphere here on campus that is evident in everything we do. Waterloo is also such a student-oriented city that you will never feel alone because everywhere you look there are students who are going through the exact same experiences.
In my first year, I lived in Bricker residence and was involved with Enactus Laurier, SBE Cares, and the Laurier Badminton Club. I have also been heavily involved with the Laurier Student Food Bank. This year, I will continue my role as the Food Bankís Resources & Sponsorship Executive. Extracurricular involvement is the norm here and it greatly contributes to the sense of community on campus.
Another deciding factor for me in choosing Laurier was the outstanding co-op program. I would recommend anyone interested in the Arts, Science, or Business programs to consider pursuing this option. I completed my first co-op term in the summer of 2014. The program afforded me an opportunity to work at one of the Big 4 accounting firms in downtown Toronto, and I am sure I would not have been able to gain this placement without co-op.
Iím so happy that you are considering Laurier as the place to start your university career. When I was deciding where I should attend university, I was not too sure about Laurier until I visited the campus and saw, first-hand, how great it really is. This school, my experiences here, and the people I have met have exceeded my expectations. I would love to invite you to our campus so we can show you around. Hope to see you soon!
