4th Year Political Science & Global Studies

London, ON

Hello future Hawks! My name is Olivia and I am in my 4th year of a double major in Honours Political Science and Global Studies with a Research Specialization Option. I love the flexibility involved in adding another major within the Faculty of Arts at Laurier. I hail from London but my true home is the Laurier campus.

Ever since I stepped on campus, I knew that Laurier would be where I belong. The sense of community that drives the leadership opportunities on campus is unmatchable. I've been able to extend my learning beyond the classroom in both employment opportunities and extracurricular activities.

I started in first year as a part of the First Year Leadership Programs as a Community Representative as well as a Sustainability Representative for my House Council in residence. This led to being hired as a Residence Life Don and the Sustainability Campus Council Advisor in my second year.

I went on an international exchange to Georgia Southern University in my third year and it was the most exciting adventure of my life. I was able to work as a Don in their residences while I attended school.

This year, Iím excited to try new opportunities. I am a part of the Students' Union as an Executive on the University Affairs Policy Research Committee. I am also continuing my work in residence as a Residence Education Advisor. There is always something to get involved with!

As you can hopefully already tell through your research, Laurier is a university that prepares you academically but also cultivates a community where you can build strong relationships and prepare you for a career afterwards. The amount of opportunities and friends that come with being a Golden Hawk is one of the many reasons I call Laurier home.
