Hello future Golden Hawks! My name is Paula El-Khoury and I am currently going into my third year at Laurier pursuing a Communication Studies degree with the Management Option.

Choosing the university you will attend is surely one of the hardest decisions students face, but I can confidently say that choosing Laurier was the best decision I ever made. Embarking on a new chapter in your life can be very nerve-racking, but I assure you that the volunteers during Orientation Week, your Residence or LOCUS Dons, and academic staff’s warm welcomes will instantly make you feel right at home!

From a variety of extra curriculars to excellent academics, Laurier has it all and that’s what made me fall in love with it. In my first year, I was involved in House Council; the Student’s Union Liaison Team, planning fun events for first-year students; and was a member of the Inter Residence Council. In my second year, I got involved in Orientation Week as an Ice Breaker and it was one of my most memorable experiences at Laurier yet! The Habitat for Humanity Laurier chapter also gave me the opportunity to travel to North Carolina to help build homes for the underprivileged. This year, apart from being an Ambassador and a second-time Ice Breaker, I am also an Executive member for Winter Carnival, in which we plan a fun-filled week in January to uplift the “winter blues” for students!

This is my first year as an Ambassador and I am extremely excited to share all my wonderful experiences at Laurier with you and to show you how amazing Laurier really is. I hope to see you around campus!
