4th Year Communications & Psychology

Hi! Glad to see you’re interested in becoming a Golden Hawk. Three years ago I made the decision to come to Laurier and I have loved every minute since!

I am currently a double major Communication Studies and Psychology student with the Co-op option going into my fourth year at Laurier.

The opportunities are truly endless here. In my orientation week I was amazed by the orientation week leaders. This year I have the privilege of being a Head Icebreaker in which I will lead 74 Icebreakers (orientation week leaders) and almost 1000 first year students into our Laurier family. Because the Laurier community is so small, the position I dreamed about since first year became a reality.

There are so many activities available at Laurier it is hard to narrow down my favourite. From intramural sports like the very competitive dodgeball, inner tube water polo, soccer, etc., to the varsity Lacrosse Team, to Eco Hawks, to House Council in my first year residence, along with many more have made my experience at this school nothing short of amazing. There are so many activities at Laurier that have not only helped me feel more and more at home here, but have also enriched my learning.

The people at Laurier really sold me on coming. Since Laurier is such a small community I have been able to get to know a large part of the school, regardless of faculty. I have met some of the most amazing and inspiring individuals. It has been a pleasure to grow surrounded by such caring, kind and encouraging people.

I would highly recommend coming to Laurier. This school has changed my life and I'd love to see it change yours.
